  6.               UPGRADING from WEATHER PROFESSIONAL V2.0 or later
  7.               -------------------------------------------------

  9. 1. Unzip this package to a temporary, empty directory.  To set up the
  10.      empty directory, just enter, for instance, MD C:\WXTEMP.
  11. 2. Copy WEATHER.PLT from your old directory or your registered disk
  12.      to the temporary directory.
  13. 3. ONLY IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM V2.1 OR LATER VERSIONS -- 
  14.      if you prefer, you may copy your configuration to the new version.
  15.      Just copy your old WEATHER.CFG from the old directory to the temporary
  16.      directory.
  17. 4. If you would like to keep your customized weather station list,
  18.      copy WEATHER.STN from the old directory to the temporary directory.
  19. 5. If you would like to keep your customized city listing, copy WEATHER.CTY 
  20.      from the old directory to the temporary directory.
  21. 6. Run WEATHER in the temporary directory to make sure everything runs
  22.      properly.
  23. 7. If all looks OK, delete everything in your old directory and copy all
  24.      contents of the temporary directory to the old directory.  Then
  25.      delete the temporary directory.

  31.    This is a rather extensive update, since the philosophy and structure
  32. of the program has changed, along with the name.  
  33.  
  34.    To update your program, make a new directory, preferably C:\WEATHER,
  35. and unzip this entire package into it.  Then follow these instructions. 
  36.  
  37.    1. MANDATORY!!!  Copy RADAR.PLT from your old directory, renaming it to 
  38.         WEATHER.PLT in the new one.  You can use a command like:
  39.         COPY C:\RADSCAN\RADAR.PLT C:\WEATHER\WEATHER.PLT
  40.    
  41.    2. If you have customized your town and city list, copy RADAR.CTY from 
  42.         the old directory to WEATHER.CTY in the new one.  Allow it to 
  43.         overwrite the old file.  
  44.    
  45.    3. I strongly recommend that you DO NOT rename/move RADAR.STN, though, as 
  46.         WEATHER.STN now contains an exhaustive list of national stations.
  47.         If you do, however, you may affect the capability of your program to
  48.         plot numerous upper-air and surface reports.
  49.    
  50.    4. Your new program is WEATHER.EXE in the new directory.  Read the
  51.         enclosed WEATHER.DOC and type WEATHER by itself to run the program.

  53.    5. When you get a chance, delete RadarScan from your disk drive as you'll
  54.         no longer need it.

  56. Changes RadarScan users might want to be aware of:
  57.  
  58.    * Your data file is no longer RADAR.TXT, but DATA.TXT.
  59.    * There are no command line parameters anymore.  However, if your data 
  60.        is not in DATA.TXT, specify it by adding it to the end of the WEATHER
  61.        startup command (e.g. WEATHER 04JUL92.DAT).
  62.    * You do not need to memorize the time for the weather data.  Weather
  63.        Pro will accurately figure it out for you.
  64.    * All commands are now keystroke-driven.  Once inside the program, you
  65.        can plot or look at maps or change the configuration.  See WEATHER.DOC
  66.        for further details.
